We have estimated that over the last 20 years, we have cleaned roughly 2 million bins. As current green waste bins have a height of 107cm, if we laid each of these bins out and stretched them from our office in Camberley, Surrey, they would reach 2140km which is the distance to Adiyaman, Turkey.
To celebrate we are including some fun facts below about this distance.
2140km is the distance of the Orinoco River, which is the largest river in Venezuela.
Flowing in a giant arc from Colombia and Venezuela all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, the Orinoco is one of the longest rivers in South America, its basin and flooded forests home to rich plant and animal life.
The largest city of Azerbaijan BAKU is 2140sqkm.
Located on the shores of the Caspian Sea, Baku has a population of 2,262,600, which ranks as the largest city in the Caucasus region. Located at an elevation of 28 meters (92 feet) below sea level, Baku is the world’s lowest-lying national capital city. It is also the world’s biggest city located below sea level.
The smallest, heaviest known dwarf star has a radius of 2140km.
Discovered in 2021, a white dwarf star called ZTF J1901+1458 has been found to have a radius of 2140km and a mass of 1.35 solar masses that is only slightly larger than the radius of the Moon. The white dwarf is about 100 million years old and has an extreme magnetic field almost 1 billion times stronger than our Sun’s.
Concorde could reach a top speed 2140km/hr.
The Concorde was a supersonic passenger-carrying commercial airplane. Built-in the 1960s as part of a joint venture between the United Kingdom and France, the Concorde was the first commercial aircraft of its kind.
So there you have, some interesting facts about the distance of bins we have cleaned in our 20 years of serving the local communities of Hampshire, Berkshire, and Surrey.
